The new Migration Program's major winner: partner visas
The "2020-21 Migration Program Report" for the program year ending on June 30, 2021, was released by THE DEPARTMENT OF HOME AFFAIRS. The results of the migration program for this program year clearly show that the partner visa is the most significant winner.
Nearly a 50/50 balance between the two streams was achieved this year, with 79,620 of the total 160,000 permanent spots supplied in the skill stream and 77,372 in the family stream.
A rapid increase in the number of family stream visas awarded during this program year 2020–2021—77,372—almost doubled that of the prior program year.
